42 years, 255 pages, and dozens of attempts later, it’s done. I’m finally a published author!

Though He Fall: My Journey Through Surrender, Loss, And A Thousand Healings is my testimony of God’s sustaining grace through disability, grief, and a parent’s worst nightmare. Above all, it’s the story of the overwhelming goodness and sustaining grace of God.

Early in the summer, I was pressed, rather than prompted, by the Lord to “finish the book.” It seemed urgent back then, so I laid aside almost all of my other activities and sank myself into the discipline of writing in order to get my story “out there.”

With the generous help and keen eye of some friends, I’m happy to report it’s done. I couldn’t have finished this assignment without Kelli and Tim and Mark and Kim and, of course, Sandy. The book is a whole lot better because of them.

I’m honored to share this project with you and pray you will be given a wider lens through which to see the amazing mercies of God. Indeed, He doeth all things well.

Selah, beloved.

You, Pasture Scott have always been a beautiful writer. Reading your story (much of what I have been blessed to learn prior to your book), I could see your face, hear your voice and feel your heart in the depths of every word.
While reading it and seeing the short distance to the end of the book, knowing your life has been packed full with years upon years of experiences, blessings, trials and miracles that could fill an Encyclopedia…I followed your words and your heart all the way to “Selah, beloved ” and understood.

Thank you , Pasture Scott for sharing you, Sandy and Graham with us, and for the continued encouragement that your words and life have brought and continue to bring in leading myself and others to the gracious and merciful arms of our loving Father.
Ps. Can’t wait to read the next one! 🥰

    1. Talk about beautiful writing! Alisa, this is one of the most deeply meaningful comments I have ever received. It brought tears to my eyes; tears of being overwhelmed by such kindness, and tears of joy in remembering the beautiful years we served the Lord together at NR. Know that your Pasture and Sandy love you dearly. Thank you for getting the book and reading it so quickly! And thank you for sharing my words with your girls. Please send it to each of them with a hug from Pasture. Love always to you and D. Thank you for blessing me so profoundly with these words, dear one. May your 2024 be a perpetual shower of God’s good grace on you and your family!

  6. A one day read, and overwhelmingly reminded of God’s unending grace, and abiding hope.

We were acquaintances at TTU, so many details I recalled quite well.
I was an off campus student.
You graciously shared with my little children’s Sunday School class, and our church, Lakewood Baptist, of the hope within you, soon after you returned back to Temple.

We live in Richmond/Houston, Texas now, and I would love to be a part of bringing you and Sandy to this area in the future, if the Lord wills.

God is in your story, and He receives the glory you so willingly surrender.
    May He richly bless.

    In His love,

    1. What a beautiful comment, Donna! It blesses Sandy and me so much to read this and we both give humble thanks to our Father for giving us friends like you. Thank you for reading the book! If the Lord wills and our paths should cross in the future in the way you mentioned, we will be thrilled! Blessings and love to you and yours, our friend.

  7. I just finished your book after three days. I remember you from TTU days – I was a Freshman and you were a Senior. I knew a little of your testimony then but your book made me both cry and laugh. Thank you for sharing your powerful and incredible testimony. I’ve recommended it on my Facebook page.
