it’s a pod!

I’m super grateful for the opportunity to share my story of God’s healing grace and power through weakness to a wider audience in just a few days. My new friend, and all-around great guy, Lou Lepore, hosts a podcast featuring stories of those who have met life’s challenges through Christ’s overcoming power, and have come to know Jesus in a more intimate and meaningful way. And, bless him, he saw my video our church’s production team put together for our Easter service and asked my sister Susan (they attend the same church) if I’d be interested in telling my story for More Than Conquerors with Lou Lepore. Boy would I!

We recorded that interview for his More Than Conquerors podcast a couple weeks ago. Lou and I enjoyed a stirring conversation over the phone (Lou makes it so easy!) and I was just informed it will hit the airwaves later this week.

Check out a sampling of that interview by clicking on the link just below. When the full interview is broadcast, I will leave a link for you at that time. The podcast can be found on multiple platforms, including Apple, Spotify, and Buzzsprout, among others.

I hope you enjoy!

Selah, beloved. Talk soon.

For nearly three decades, Scott ministered in churches, at youth events, to professional athletes, and was a frequent speaker at disability camps. He served another seventeen years as the senior pastor of a local church in Douglasville, Georgia. ••••• Scott has a unique ministry to those who are hurting since his own disability allows him access to a suffering world. He ministers these days through his blog, teaches and preaches occasionally, and is still very much engaged in discipling younger men and encouraging pastors. ••••• Married to Sandy, his loving companion of forty years, Scott continues to brag about how she hung his moon and is the best person he’s ever known. They have a son, Graham, who waits for them in heaven. ••••• Scott and Sandy presently make their home in Clearwater, Florida.

  1. What a wonderful opportunity to share God’s refining love and grace in your life ! May the Lord use it for His glory to reach others. Much love to you and Sandy!

  2. What an amazing opportunity for you to tell what God has done and how faithful He is. I am excited to listen. Miss you friend !! Give Sandy a hug for me. “Overcomers through Christ” would be a great name. (wink wink).

    1. Thank you, KaKa. Bless you for joining our journey so many decades ago and supporting us so faithfully! P. S., I love that you remember that time in the Mitchell’s lives! Nothing but fondest memories of OTC Ministries.

  3. A wonderful testimony of our LORD’S grace, goodness and glory.

    My love, always. Brett

    1. It was my pleasure, Brett. I must have shared this story thousands of times in the last 45 years, and rarely have I shared it where my heart wasn’t pouring through it. That has been a mercy. And now I am almost 66 years old, and the story is as fresh now as it was decades ago. I thank our wonderful Lord for allowing me the privilege to share it – and for teaching me and growing me in His beautiful plan. Sending love to you, brother. Thank you for your (always) kind words.

    1. Oh thank you, Kelli! It means a lot to me that you would share it with your people! Be expecting a phone call from me in the near future because I have a special request for you!

  4. I’m a little late viewing your blog but just know I keep up with you through my son Todd who admires you as I do for all you have gone through and am praying you experience complete healing of your gallbladder removal. Thank you for your encouraging words. I plan to order your latest reading. God bless you.

    1. My dear Peggy, thank you for these beautiful words of kindness and comfort. Todd messaged me on Thursday that you and he were already praying for me and your prayers continued through surgery and my recovery. You are a blessing and lovely gift to my heart! Thank you for sharing your beloved son with me (and all of us!). He adores you so much.
