Lord, I Want To Be Gold

“Lord, I want to be gold”

This is my prayer to Thee;

I need the pressure –

I need the FIRE –

To be what You want me to be.

I want to be gold, Lord!

Whatever the cost may be!

(To lose a loved one)

(To lose my health)

I just want what You want for me.

Mine is not to ask “why?” dear Lord

When trials come and go;

I must believe –

Without a doubt –

That those trials help me grow.

When testings come my way, O Lord,

They’re only for my good;

The fires won’t burn me –

The pressures won’t crush me –

If I’m resting in Your Word.

So make my life transparent, Lord

Refine me in Your mold,

And send the pressures –

And send the fires –

And make my life as gold!
