It’s a shame this is too long to tweet, but it’s too good to keep to myself:

“When I thought God was hard, I found it easy to sin; but when I found God so kind, so good, so overflowing with compassion, I beat my breast to think I could ever have rebelled against One who loved me so and sought my good.”

– Charles Spurgeon

This affirms that the grace message should not be shied away from and does indeed “possess the teeth that scares us into changing” (Tullian Tchividjian) and the church will undergo a better reformation when she understands the inexhaustible grace that infuses the New Covenant.

A grace that releases her to shine in the world with beauty and power.

A breast-beating grace that moves her from the mechanics and trappings of behavior modification and sin management to become the Bride that Jesus is eagerly waiting to embrace.

A grace that will LEAD us home.

I’m checking my chest this morning and realize I should have more bruising from grace-amazement. How about you?
