After these things the word of the Lord came to Abram in a vision: “Fear not, Abram, I am your shield; your reward shall be very great.”

How many times have we come off a spiritual and moral victory – a mountaintop experience – only to fall flat only days (or hours!) later?

Such was the case of a very brave and heroic Abram in Genesis 15:1. God found him in his tent, uncertain and fearful of his future – on the heels of a military operation that was one for the books!
